It starts with a dream that Rudeus is having. All his loved ones are there. Like Sauros, his dad Paul, his mom Zenith. Sylphie. Roxy. Everyone from his home that he loves. Then they disappear, he turns into his old former self, and Orsted punches a hole through him. After being nearly killed, that last part is understandable.
