Square Enix Presents Shows Off Black Panther in Avengers, Forspoken, and More

Gaming March 19, 17:34 0
The first ever Square Enix Presents digital showcase released online on March 18 at 10:00 AM PDT. This is the first of what will presumably be an ongoing seasonal event, as the full YouTube video viewable below, was titled Spring 2021.

This Square Enix Presents features a number of announcements about upcoming video games published by the company, as well as some exciting updates for games already out. I’ve highlighted several of my favorite announcements in this article!

Marvel’s Avengers

A teaser trailer was shown of Black Panther, the next super hero who will be added to the live multiplayer co-op game Marvel’s Avengers some time this year. The game was originally released in Fall 2020. New content for the game has been scarce to the disappointment of many like myself, so this is great to hear. Through data mining leaks, several playable characters have been unofficially revealed to be coming to the game, and Black Panther was one of them.

The news of Black Panther’s inclusion comes right as their second new character addition, the hero Hawkeye, releases today, along with the Future Imperfect story content and the release of the official PS5 version of the game.

Project Athia, which was teased as a PS5/PC exclusive last year, gets an official title - Forspoken. The motion capture actress for the game’s main character, Fray, is revealed to be played by Ella Balinska. She announced the official title and teases the game a little more. The magic action and open world looks absolutely stunning!

Life is Strange: True Colors

A new sequel to the Life is Strange series is coming out on September 10, 2021. The game is titled Life is Strange: True Colors. Its main female protagonist, Alex Chen, will have powers, following the trend of the main protagonists in the first two games.

Unlike the first two games, this game will be released all at once.

Outriders is coming very soon - April 1, 2021. But before it drops, Square Enix has unveiled this last game CG/gameplay trailer. I played the demo and loved it. This looks like it will be a fun, robust online co-op experience.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy

Lara Croft is back in the form of a trilogy that packs together the previously released Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
