Cosplayer Enako appeared in a commercial in Rem’s “Re:Zero” costume! Reveal the story behind the shooting and the reason for the costume’s attachment
Cosplayer Enako appeared in the Web commercial for the smartphone game "Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World: Lost in memories" (abbreviation: Re:Zero) based on "Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World". This time, she talked about the story behind the shooting, her feelings for Rem whose costume she wears in the commercial, and her attachment to this costume.
The Web commercial "Re:zero" was shot on Sep. 15, 2020. The CM revolves abound Enako as the official cosplayer of Rem from "Re:zero", and she gets immersed in the game while photo shooting... Let's talk about all of them.
What feelings do you want to give to users who will see this commercial?
This time, I appeared in a commercial in Rem's cosplay, and it's a mysterious commercial that takes advantage of my cosplay shooting.
I hope not only fans will like it, but also people unfamiliar with it will get immersed in commercial and become new users.
What do you like in the game "Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World: Lost in memories"?
I'm a big fan of the original work, and 2D characters moving on the screen of my smartphone are fascinating to me.
To make them move is already interesting, but you can also choose your own options, change story development to one from the anime's first season or completely another, you can also enjoy the story of the new IF, so it's a game that can be enjoyed not only by fans of the work but also by those who haven't seen the anime yet.
In an interview last year, you said, "Playing a game changes your personality." How did it change you?
When it comes to games to fight with people, I get emotional, and I get so immersed in it that I get angry (laughs).
However, playing the game just by myself doesn't involve such emotions, but makes me forget time, forget to sleep or eating, and just immersing me in the game.
I'm sure Re:zero will make you forget about the time and just play.
This time you created a cute cosplay (of the character "Rem"). Is there anything you particularly like?
At the time of fitting this costume, I said "I want you to do this a little more.", and told not to destroy the image.
For example, the length of the skirt was made to be REM-like. I am very particular about the frills on my arm, and I have them cut it so that it looks exactly like the original. I really like it.
It's been a difficult time with the novel coronavirus, but how are you dealing with it?
I think it's becoming a little lonely that there is no event to meet anyone, but thankfully I've been working very hard lately. I've been busy since last year, and I'm having a really fulfilling life.
What is the most memorable moment in this commercial?
During the shooting, despite I've done it many times before, I ignored the cameraman, digging into my smartphone. I feel a little guilty (laughs).
To convey how immersive this game is (the theme of the commercial), I kept doing it while, saying, "I'm sorry!".
What do you like about REM?
At first, she thought that Subaru was bitter and scary, but as the story of anime progressed, she became very attracted to him, and at the end without confessing directly to him, she conveys her feelings remains loving him.
