Warning: Spoilers ahead.
It starts ith Kanna flying as a dragon at night. It’s rare to see her as a dragon. Apparently, she had a fight with Kobayashi. We don’t know what it was about, but that doesn’t matter. Kanna’s flying at night, and the darkness is making her sleepy. So she looks for a land where it’s still daytime. That leads her to New York City!
It’s cute seeing Kanna get adjusted in a foreign country. Being a dragon, she can learn other languages in an instant! But she has no American money for the delicious looking hot dogs, which she’s never tried before.
She runs into a little girl named Chloe running away from some mafia thugs. Kanna beats up the thugs easily.
Chloe was kidnapped by them, and she got away. Her dad is some rich CEO. To thank Kanna for helping her, she tries to pay for the hot dogs. With a black card! So rich! She can’t use card at the hot dog stand, but did have some cash, so she and Kanna finally got to eat those delicious dogs.
The two play together all over NYC. It’s good times, but eventually Kanna realizes that she should go home and apologize to Kobayashi. Chloe wonders if she should go home too, as she ran away after a fight with her dad. She’s not sure how to apologize.
But before the two can finish the conversation, the thugs come up in a van and grab Chloe again! They were about hurt Chloe in some warehouse, but Kanna catches up with them. She beats them up and scares them away. She also reveals to Chloe that she’s a dragon. Who takes it rather well.
Kanna lets Chloe ride her back, and they go back to Chloe’s home so she can apologize. Kanna goes home, too. And she hugs Kobayashi, who has fallen asleep waiting for her. Aww.
We also learn that Tohru was secretly in the background watching Kanna the whole time she was in New York. Awwww.
In the next story, it’s a hot day. Tohru and Ilulu are at work, but Kobayashi is home on her day off. Kanna gets some mail from Chloe, and Kobayashi gives permission for Chloe to come visit some time. So hopefully we see her in a future ep.
The two decide to go on a walking adventure outside. Kanna sees bugs, and frogs, and plays. She does some independent research on manholes. And we see a new mascot named Mr. Quiet get stuffed into a van during the rain. Don’t know why.
Anyways, I think this was a wholesome make-up story for Kobayashi and Kanna. Simple and good.
