Which 2021 Summer Anime Do You Want to Be in? 3rd Place “Idolish 7”, “HameFura”, 2nd Place “RE-MAIN”… Many Fans Wanted to Watch Over the Main Characters!
The 2021 summer anime features a variety of unique characters as usual.
From protagonists leading the story to supporting characters who have a mysterious presence... There must be some titles that make you want to be a character in them.
In response to many requests from our readers, we at Anime!Anime! conducted a readers' survey asking "Which 2021 Summer Anime Do You Want to Be in?" There were 166 votes during the survey period from August 2 to August 9.
The voters were mainly female with a gender ratio of 30% male to 70% female, and the age range was on the younger side with 55% under 20 and 25% in their 20s.
■Many fans wanted to watch over the main characters
1st Place
"Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan" topped the list with roughly 15% of the votes.
There were many fans who wanted to become a child in "Together with Maman", the educational show in this anime, saying, "I'd love to hear the honest thoughts of the adults including Uramichi Onii-san from very close up," and "I've grown up and learned the darkness of society, so I want to become a pure child who can still become anything I want."
There was also a minority opinion, "I want to become Iketeru Onii-san's dog, Sayuri."
2nd Place
Coming in 2nd was "RE-MAIN" with roughly 13% of the votes.
This is a sports anime that is set in a high school water polo club. Since its set in a weak team, some wanted to "enjoy youth by training hard along with the other members," while others wanted to "become the team assistant and support the players."
An original anime ranked high on the list since fans are curious how the story is going to develop.
3rd Place
"Idolish 7: Third BEAT!" and "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" shared 3rd place.
"Idolish 7" received votes from fans who wanted to support the idols as fans, "Lately, I've been unable to go to events, so I want to be a mob character that enjoys an IDOLiSH7 concert," and fans who want to work at the agency, "If I could be the manager, Takanashi Tsumugi, every day would be busy, but I know I'd be healed by seeing the idols I've raised!"
For "HameFura", "It would be fun if I could avoid the destruction flags along with Catarina, dragging in all the people around us," and "Being at the mercy of Catarina would make everyday fun and exciting."
The results show how popular the protagonist, Catarina, is.

For "The Case Study of Vanitas", "I love not only the characters but also the city, so I'd love a taste of the vampire world."
There were also votes for a spinoff of a popular series, "The Honor Student at Magic High School", "'The Irregular' has a lot of battle scenes and is often tense, but 'The Honor Student' depicts the friendship of girls and I would be happy to be a part of their friendship."
There weren't many fans who wanted to be the protagonist, but instead, many fans wanted to watch over the main characters.
