Top 5 Most Anticipated Anime in 2022

It’s the start of a new year, meaning we have four whole seasons of anime to look forward to! That equates to dozens of anime to choose from, and potentially hundreds of hours of programming to watch. If you’re having trouble deciding what to watch, never fear. I’ve made a short list of some of my most anticipated anime, in no particular order! Enjoy!

This is it, folks. The end of the end. For real, this time! Thanks to some lengthy hiatuses and a lot of milking, AoT AKA Shingeki no Kyojin lasted nearly 10 YEARS. It was first released back in April 2013.

A lot of the biggest head scratchers and mysteries have already been revealed, like why the titans were attacking and where they came from. But there’s still plenty of shocking revelations that can be made. The story is absolutely insane and unpredictable (unless you read the manga, which I didn’t). Let’s hope the anime series ends in a satisfying way. Best of all, the first ep is right around the corner. We’ll be reviewing every ep right on Tokyo Anime News!

The fourth season of Overlord was only barely announced last month! It’s hard for me to believe that the third season ended all the way back on Oct 2, 2018. But it did! It’s been too long since we’ve had those spectacular, over-the-top wins by our beloved OP villain, Ainz Ooal Gown! 

Unfortunately, no official release date has been announced yet. But I can’t wait to watch Ainz-sama and his faithful servants continue to crush his enemies! So be on the lookout for when his boney face finally shows itself again this year!

Saga of Tanya the Evil AKA Youjo Senki is another series about a brilliant anti-hero capable of serious wins. I could care less that Major Degurechaff is a modern Japanese man reincarnated into a little girl, though it does lead to a few gags here and there. The important part is that this series boasts incredible tactical battle action!

Unfortunately, no official release date has been announced yet. The first season ended long ago on March 31, 2017. Followed in 2019 by a movie sequel. I’m dying to find out what happens next!

See, I’m not only into action anime! I’m also into slice-of-life! And there’s something very annoying yet somehow still cute about the character Uzaki-chan, that I gotta watch. I blame it on the big boobs and short height. Again, no official release date for Season 2. But it’s coming out this year!

And then right back to action recommendations! My friend who read the manga says it’s an amazing series. I’ve only seen some imagery, but some of it looks downright grotesque and crazy! I have high hopes for this newcomer to the anime industry!
